FIVIT Need help?

Where the food data comes from

The supermarket foods you can search in FIVIT, the Dutch and German products, come from Open Food Facts, a free database built by volunteers.

Food data © Open Food Facts contributors, available under the Open Database License. FIVIT's copy is a derived database, so it is offered under the same licence.

Get the data

The table FIVIT searches, and the script that builds it from the Open Food Facts export, are free to download: github.com/AteekshL/fivit-store-foods.

Other sources

Generic foods (an egg, a cup of rice) come from USDA FoodData Central, which is in the public domain. Barcode lookups go to Open Food Facts directly.
